Thursday November 17, 2011

Today, Mike Potts from the Red Deer Crossroads church made an appointment to be here all day to evaluate construction needs and make some plans on how to get his men's group involved. He arrived about 8:00 AM, traveling through a snow storm, and stayed for over 13 hours. It was a great day, sharing and planning. Karen visited ladies in the hospital in Rocky, bought snacks for Sunday School...each Sunday we give each class snacks and something to drink because many come hungry, without having eaten anything. Sometimes we've had to make sandwiches, sometimes we give out fruit. Sometimes churches give a donation to help with this, and sometimes the workers contribute food. Karen sorted and arranged donated literature, books and etc. that are for Sunday School lesson resources. That can be a big job. Karen shared her input concerning developing the facilities, with Mike also. Karen went out to get children for choir practice, but decided to cancel it because of the snow storm. The roads are bad. Spent more time tonight Sorting supplies and arranging them so they can be found by the teachers. Karen worked on emails about Sunday School issues.
