The last 80 miles of the trip is down the Porcupine River. All along the way are camps like this here and there which the Old Crow people use mostly as hunting and fishing camps, or often just to spend time enjoying getting away from town. When the caribou migrate, or when the salmon are running, it's really handy to have places like this to stay and put up meat and fish.
This cache is located farther on down the Porcupine at Lydia Thomas cabin. Bears and wolverines are a real problem for breaking windows and doors and cleaning out cabins, so these caches are more 'burglar' proof.
This is the trail as it follows a creek leading into the Porcupine River about 85 miles from Old Crow
