Dear Friends,

We now have two full years of monthly updates published on our website, with hundreds of pictures of major events. Intrested churches and individuals can get a good idea of what is happening here at the Sunchild mission, and it's outreach, on these updates. We don't always remember to take pictures and sometimes forget some events, but each month we have published a good sample of life and work here. We plan on continuing to publish an update for each month. Sometimes we've been late, but we are working on getting these updates online by the last day of each month.

We encourage anyone interested to phone us and talk to us. We are isolated here and that is the best way to connect if you can't come.

Karen took on adding a tutoring project to her schedule and it has been encouraging. Korean teams from Calgary were here for youth group on O'Chiese and met with us for a discussion/planning meeting for Sunchild. Most Sundays Karen had help with Sunday School by teams from Drayton Valley and all the way from Calgary. Sometimes we had 20 youth in Sunday School. I haven't been able to preach in morning service due to my throat condition.

The decision has been made to move forward with replacing our house with a new build. We had two meetings with construction people that are coming along side to help with this. Most of the lumber has already been promised to be donated by two sawmills, and others may be interested as well. Wednesday we have another meeting scheduled for planning, and also organising a construction board for each phase and for finances. We'll be giving updates each month, and also having a separate page to follow this project.

I wasn't able to attend my brother, Blaines funeral, last month because I couldn't leave Karen with the work here in weather that was down to 30 below. I really missed being with loved ones during that time of grief.

There is a New Year's tradition here on this Reserve where everyone goes around and visits as many places as they can and share a New Year's meal. In the picture below, these folks were the first to come, right close to midnight.

Below is a Sunday School picture with team members taken on the 18th.

We had a few warm days in January. So warm, in fact, that a mosquito hatched out in the house. this is how big they are!

The team from Caroline came back to help on the 23rd and we had "17" teens that night!!

The Calgary team came for a planning session on the 24th. A lot of things to work through for the future.

A Korean pastor, Tom, brought a team to help with Sunday School on the 25th. They plan on coming the last Sunday of each month.

Someone brought a lot of pizza for everyone!

God Bless...and please keep us in prayer...In Jesus, Rodger & Karen Rinker
