Dear Friends,

At the end of September a lady that was one of our Sunday School girls when we lived on the Pine Ridge Reservation passed away. I had just been there and she passed away just after I left. So I held the fort here while Karen and our daughter Jenny drove down to Pine Ridge for the funeral. They got to visit our son Joshua in Wyoming and see his son that is 6 years old now, and his wife who is due to have their second child in November. They got back right at the beginning of November, so it wasn't included in the September update.

Last summer's mail strike was put on hold and we had been getting our mail until the strike started up again so that we went for another month or so without mail. We recently started receiving mail again, so all we can say is that it appears we will get any mail that you send, it just might take a lot of time for it to ever get through.

The rest of October's news will be included with the photo's below.

(Picture Below) Last Saturday we had a visit from Pastor Tom and his family, plus a youth worker from his church in Calgary. They want to come and help in Sunday School once a month. This will be a wonderful answer to prayer for help for Karen.

It was still warm enough to have a teen group in the gazebo.

These kids feel so loved by their teacher. We are so thankful for each volunteer that comes. Last Sunday Karen had to have all the Sunday School classes by herself, so we still don't always have enough help.

This month we had a team from the Prairie Bible college at Three Hills, Alberta come and help with the youth. They were a special blessing to us all with their help and testimonies.

We had help come with this equipment to work on getting this building usable. It would get flooded each year and had to have landscaping to get runoff water from going inside. Enough material was filled inside to raise the floor level.

The ground was landscaped to have all the snow melt run away from the building. This winter we will be packing and moving everything from the house into storage in this building. In the spring we will be taking down our house and start on our program to build a new house in it's place. We will be living in the church apartment, cook tent, and camping trailer while the new house is being built. Hopefully we can raise enough funds to get this done as quickly as possible.

This month the Korean teams came twice from Calgary. They held youth groups on both Sunchild and O'Chiese Reserves.

Below is the team from Caroline, Alberta holding a friday night youth group. They are always a blessing working with the teen group.

In mid-October we had a heavy wet snow. It has melted off, but our temperature has dropped now and we are starting into winter!

This is Monica from Drayton Valley, Alberta helping with Sunday School. Her church has prepared all the crafts and lessons for the rest of the year, which takes a huge load off of Karen!

This is Corrie and Peter, who are music evangelists from Alberta and came to minister in our Canadian Thanksgiving church dinner. They were a special blessing.

This is the Thanksgiving dinner. In Canada, Thanksgiving is held in October. We had over 50 attend. There wasen't enough room in the main Chapel room, so it was quite a challenge to squeeze everyone in somewhere.

This month we had visitors from Ontario, Canada come to visit and get acquainted with our mission here at Sunchild. They were accompanied by friends from Drayton Valley and Red Deer, Alberta.

Below is our son Joshua with his sister Jenny, and mom Karen. They stopped to see his family in Wyoming on their way to the funeral in South Dakota.

Please keep us in prayer. As always we want to remind you to feel free to call and chat with us at the number at the top of the page. God Bless....In Jesus, Rodger & Karen Rinker.
